GDS-IR2
Infrared gas sensor with five-year warranty, CSA Class I Division 1 certification, and SIL-2 suitability.

What This Device
Does
The GDS-IR2 infrared gas sensor uses proven infrared sensing technology to detect dangerous levels of carbon dioxide or explosive levels of methane, propane, and other hydrocarbons. Designed for harsh environments, it is virtually maintenance-free and immune to poisoning or etching by any known gas. CSA certified for Class I Division 1 explosive environments and suitable for use in SIL-2 safety systems.
Key Specifications
Where You'd
Use This
Refineries and offshore drilling platforms where catalyst poisoning is a known failure mode
Fuel loading docks and biogas processing facilities
Breweries and wastewater treatment requiring CO2 monitoring
Natural gas storage and distribution facilities
Why We Specify This
We specify the GDS-IR2 wherever a catalytic bead sensor would be vulnerable to poisoning from silicones, sulphur compounds, or lead -REPLACED- all common in industrial environments. The infrared technology is immune to these contaminants, which means fewer sensor replacements and more reliable long-term operation. The five-year warranty and SIL-2 suitability make it the right choice for safety-instrumented functions where proof testing intervals matter.
