Spectrex 960

UV open path detector for toxic ammonia (NH3) at low concentrations, up to 200 ft range, sub-10 second response.

Spectrex 960 — SafEye Quasar 960 Open Path Gas Detector for Ammonia
Overview

What This Device
Does

The SafEye Quasar 960 uses ultraviolet technology to continuously monitor for toxic ammonia (NH3) gas at very low concentrations, up to 95 percent obscuration. It covers wide areas with long range detection up to 60 m and high speed response in under 10 seconds. Solar blind and immune to industrial environments, so it stays reliable in real plant conditions.

Engineering Insight

Why We Specify This

Ammonia is both toxic and difficult to contain -REPLACED- it disperses rapidly and can form dangerous clouds. The Quasar 960 gives us line-of-sight coverage across an entire ammonia storage or process area, which is far more practical than trying to place enough point detectors to cover the same volume. The solar-blind UV technology means it works reliably outdoors without false alarms from sunlight.
