GDS-59X
Explosion-proof wireless transmitter that bridges 4-20mA analog sensors into a GDSCorp wireless network.

What This Device
Does
The GDS-59X is an explosion-proof wireless 4-20mA signal and state transmitter that accepts industry-standard 4-20mA analog signals and broadcasts them on GDSCorp wireless networks. Scaled values up to 30,000 can be directly input to wireless controllers such as the Protector32 RFD, Protector32 RF, or Protector6 RF. Magnetic switches allow calibration, setup, and diagnostics in hazardous areas without opening the enclosure.
Key Specifications
Where You'd
Use This
Bringing existing wired 4-20mA detectors onto a new wireless network without replacing the sensors
Hazardous-area locations where opening an enclosure for calibration requires a hot-work permit
Extending wireless coverage to third-party analog instruments already installed on site
Phased migration from a wired to a wireless architecture without a full sensor replacement
Why We Specify This
The GDS-59X solves a problem we see constantly: a client has reliable analog detectors already installed and working, but wants the coverage and reporting of a wireless network. Instead of ripping out good sensors, we fit the GDS-59X and bridge them onto the GDSCorp network. The explosion-proof rating and magnetic-switch configuration mean we can commission and calibrate inside a hazardous area without a permit to open the box. That saves real time on a live plant.
